Marilyn Sue Swope, 68, of Evansville, died Thursday,
Sept. 14, 2000, at St. Mary's Medical Center of
kidney failure. She had polycystic kidney disease, and
was on dialysis for 18 years.
She was a 1949 graduate of Reitz High School.
She was a member of the Indiana Home Demonstration
Chorus and the Vanderburgh County Home Economics
Choir. She sang in Bloomington, Ind., in 1964 and took
first place in competition.
She was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years. Paul; three
daughters, Paula Sue Swope of Cross Roads, Texas,
Karen Ann Dunbar of Athens, Texas, and Vicki Lyn
Nobles of gun Barrel City, Texas; a son, John Lee of
Mount Vernon, Ind.; four grandchildren, John Paul,
Jamie Lee, Megan and Will; and two
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Alexander
Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Kenneth E. Reed
officiating, with entombment in Alexander Memorial
Friends may cal from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's
Hospital, Renal Unit.
